About RESET

People with mental health concerns need to know their clinicians and support staff are suitably trained and supported. They need to know their clinicians and supports are compassionate, focused on their recovery, and can work in partnership to assist them set goals and achieve their dreams. People with mental health concerns also need to know that the people who work with them have and understanding of trauma that they may have experienced, including trauma related to their illness or treatment, and will be committed to ensuring they create a safe space to support recovery.

RESET provides clinical supervision and education for allied health professionals and support staff. We also provide hands on, practical training in area such as recovery focused practice, relating to people with trauma to create a place of safety and growth, understanding mental health conditions and the impact on a person’s performance, managing risk and promoting safety, and supporting the values, rights and social inclusion of people with mental health concerns.

About Amanda

Amanda is an Occupational Therapist who specializes in mental health. She has approximately 40 years experience in both public, private and non- government settings. She has worked a clinician, clinical leader and manager in community mental health settings and aged care settings. Amanda holds a Master of Community Mental Health from University of Queensland, and has held the position of Associate Lecturer in Occupational Therapy there.

Amanda has special interests in recovery from serious mental illness, trauma informed care, empowerment and authenticity. Amanda is committed to the values of hope, compassion, partnership, full social inclusion and citizenship for people with mental health concerns. She is a qualified Acceptance and Commitment Therapy practitioner and also includes a strong focus on sensory assessment and related strategies in the services she provides.
